This special Boot Camp session is presented by our guest Joseph F. Clark, Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati and the author of My Ambulance Education: Life and Death on the Streets of the City. This class will provide a brief introduction to research and research methods. The students will learn how to use scientific and medical search engines such as: medline, the national library, the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation. Some of they key elements of this session are: 

  • Importance of Peer Review Research Papers
  • Definitions of statistical methods use in research
  • To provide a body of knowledge tools so that students will be able to learn how to gauge the appropriateness of research methods in EMS
  • Live discussions concerning research in the EMS setting.
